Mangia! Mangia!

Tonight was vegan pizza night, followed by "clean out your fridge" dessert. "Back to the Bank" in Park Slope was out of Follow Your Heart, (which I am only moderately fond of anyhow), so I came up with another cheese-like concoction of my own. Made with some sesame tahini, nutritional yeast, rolled oats, water, organic cornstarch, lemon (and no soy!) I used a whole wheat pie crust, and added on homemade sauce, garlic, fresh olives, basil, oregano, and touch of Dr. Cow's Tree Nut Cheese (aged macadamia) for a sharp lil' zing on the taste buds. Not that it needed it; it was dee-lish!

Sided with a steamed greens salad, chickpeas, beet & potato wedges in garlic, lemon & oil.

Heart shaped leftovers for dessert! Using leftover pumpkin muffin batter from Veganomicon in the fridge. There wasn't much left, so I added rolled oats and spread it thinly inside the baking pan. Then I used a cookie cutter, and some "banana cream" sandwiched in between (banana, agave, vanilla extract, flour). The cream needed to be thicker, but tasted good overall!
