Celebrating two special ladies on their October birthdays, we met at the very fancy
Pure, Food & Wine restaurant for a night out. Never having been there before myself, and making only a layman's presumption, I assumed the Raw Food portions would be small, yet tasty, but possibly not too filling. Boy, was I was
dead wrong!!! We opted out on appetizers and went straight to the second course, holding onto the childlike expectation of dessert after instead. The Zucchini & Roma Tomato Lasagna was
fantastic and absolutely exploding with flavor. Every mouthful was savoy and scrumptious, and never once do you miss an overcooked soggy noodle.

The presentations were a true work of art, whetting the appetite immediately upon first glance, and in such a perfect little bundle that it was
almost hard to not just "dig in" and shovel (not that it, um, stopped me anyway). There were 2 of us unwrapping the Zucchini Lasagna, while
Tim delicately peeled away the White Corn Tamales with Raw Cacao Mole,
Candypenny savoring her Raw rendition of an old Greek favorite
, and
CunyQueen kickin' it up with some spicy Raw tostadas.

Ah, Bellissimo!
Completare a chef!!
Moving onto to dessert, I was surprised at how full I was already, having scraped the plate and tasted a little bit of everyone else's dish. We had a shared table of the Classic Sundae (chocolate and vanilla ice cream, cherry framboise, bananas, and candied almonds), as well as the Tiramisu (coffee sake almond babyfingers-layers with vanilla cream).
Ahhhhhh, I've died and gone to nutty dessert heaven, where things actually taste AMAZING and are healthy for you too.
Topped off with some b-day treats.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LADIES!!!!!!!!!
