Oh ME, Oh MY!

Just drop the "N" in Sparacino's Bakery:

and you totally have "ME" in a nutshell: the Sicilian last name, the Italian baked goods, the lil' bicyclette, and the comic & art books to boot!

Woweeee, how ever did they know!

Oh Spa
racino Bakery, won't you hire me? I could broom sweep your concrete in a lil' floral housecoat with socks, sandals, and a netted head full of rollers; Heck, I could even swing a wooden spoon or two while yelling obscenities to the neighborhood kids just to, you know, really make it authentic.

Later that night, a little dinner at Mighty Diamond truly hit the comfort food spot-on (think Mama's, just lusciously dairy-less):

I had the breaded tempeh with mango salsa, vegan mac & cheese, garlic collard greens, plantains, and a hibiscus iced tea. Candypenny had the tempeh with potato salad and fruit salad.

This was the best vegan mac & cheese yet!

Then we were off to Women Working in Panels at Huckleberry Bar in W'burg. A truly inspiring night of two favorite things: food & art!

Maybe if you promise to take off your house slipper and throw it at anyone who acts up in the bakery, they'll bring you on board. And you must show no mercy with the wooden spoon, no matter who you're swinging it at.
